FAQ

Hi! I'm Lauren, the 25 year old lass behind the Cents of Discovery blog. I'm from Perth, Western Australia, but have spent much of my life travelling, thrifting and exploring the wider world. Cents of Discovery is an artistic personal style blog that features some of my favourite secondhand store finds, as well as thrifting advice, style tips and other lovely inspiring things.

Join me on this journey by following me on the blog, Instagram, Pinterest and Google+
Are you a fellow thriftaholic? Getting ready for your first time thrifting? I'd love to hear from you. Leave a comment on the posts and I'll get back to you.

Q&A
Where are you based? I was born and raised in Perth, Western Australia.

What are some of your favourite haunts?
For close-to-home reasons, these are currently just a few of my most frequented secondhand stores: Ocean Keys Salvos  - Ocean Keys Blvd, Clarkson WA, Vinnies Clarkson - Ebb Way, Clarkson, Craigie Salvos - Eddystone Ave, Craigie, Greenwood Salvos - Canham Way, Greenwood (this one is enormous and my favourite, by far!), Vinnies Heathridge Shop - Caridean Street, Heathridge, Whitford Salvos - Endeavour Road, Hillarys, Joondalup Salvos - Winton Road, Joondalup, Good Sammy - Murray Street, Perth, Wangara Salvos - Prindiville Drive, Wangara and Vinnies Wanneroo Shop, Wanneroo Road.

Who takes your photos? Me, for the most part! If someone has helped out along the way, they'll be credited in the relevant post.

What camera / equipment do you use? I'm alternating between a Nikon D300, my smaller Nikon D40x and the occasional iPhone 5C shot (mostly used for Instagram).

What do you write about? This blog really found its footing once I decided to stop buying clothing at retail outlets almost a year ago. I'll be touching on thrifty living, some of the bargains finds I've had around the place, event listings and the occasional DIY post. If there's anything you'd love to see, let me know.

More to come...
